Jan. 1     Praising God the Creator     Psalm 33:1-9

Sing a new song of praise to your Creator.
What is it about music that touches people’s hearts? Can God be glorified through all kinds of music or only “Christian” music?

Jan. 8     All Creation Overflows with Praise     Psalm 96:1-13

Recognize that God is the only God – He reigns.
What things can draw us away from keeping God as the number one priority in our lives? Why do we sometimes give control to people or things, instead of trusting and obeying God alone and keeping Him first?

Jan. 15      Praise God the Provider      Psalm 65:1-11

We are all blessed by God’s abundant provision.
How much do you depend on what God provides for you? Why do we sometimes take His provision for granted?

Jan. 22      The Master Designer      Psalm 104:1-4;24-30

God’s glory is reflected in His creation.
What part of God’s creation astonishes or attracts you? What does creation tell you about God?

Jan. 29      All Creation Praises God      Psalm 148:1-14

God created all things to praise Him.
When is God worthy of praise? Why would God’s creation continually praise Him?

Believe Jesus is God and Jesus is the Creator.
Who wrote 1, 2, 3 John? How do you feel about people who call and won’t say who they are?

Jan. 8      Experiencing the Word of Life      1 John 1, John 14, Gen. 1

Be a friend of God and have lasting joy.
How does it feel to be a friend of God? In the order of life age provides wisdom and dignity; why do people desire to appear eternally young?

Jan. 15      Walking in the Light: Turning Away From Sin      1 John 1

The Bible teaches that there is a range of decisions that do not involve sin.
What comes to mind when you think of light? How have your children asked you when they wanted to something you had forbidden?

Jan. 22      Walking in the Light: Keeping His Commandments      1 John 2:1-11

Your actions are related to what is in your hearts.
What is Jesus’ defense for us? What is your attitude towards the family of God?

Jan. 29      Walking in the Light: Rejecting Worldliness      1 John 2

Focus on the eternal, not the things of this world.
Everything I know and touch and experience is “in the world”; how can I not love it? Does how a Christian dress affect his or her attitude?
